Mooie rankings voor Ploum in Legal 500 – 2018

The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) heeft vorige week de rankings voor 2018 gepubliceerd. The Legal 500 is een onderzoek dat jaarlijks wordt uitgevoerd op basis van feedback van cliënten en uitgebreid onafhankelijk onderzoek in de markt. Commercial, corporate and M&A – ranked: tier 6
The ‘service-oriented, no-nonsense’ team at Ploum ‘handles small, medium-sized and large transactions very well’. ‘Effective negotiator’ Tom Ensink is ‘attentive to detail while retaining a global perspective’; he heads the practice with civil law notary Jolande van Loon. Albert Wiggers and Stephan Sluijters are also highly active. Clients include Macquarie Capital, BayWa Agrar International and Nuon.
Employment – ranked: tier 4
The ‘fast, flexible and creative’ department at Ploum is ‘hands-on, friendly and very professional’. ‘Highly knowledgeable’ group head Rutger Ploum is noted for his ‘responsiveness, political savvy and spot-on risk assessments’; he handles day-to-day employment matters for Unilever and Rabobank. Peter de Waal assisted GEA with its global restructuring.
Environment and planning – ranked: tier 2
Evides, Shell Nederland Raffinaderij and the municipality of Nissewaard are among Ploum’s clients. Group head Maayke Maas-Cooymans advised Boskalis on the environment and planning aspects of its Brouwerseiland project. Of counsel Jaap Feenstra is noted for his knowledge of EU environmental law.
Insurance – ranked: tier 3
Ploum’s department is praised for its ‘particularly strong inter-departmental work’. ‘Very friendly, solution-driven’ group head Natalie Vloemans acted for Peinemann on the insurance and liability aspects of the collapse of two of its cranes in 2015. Other clients include Allianz and Westenburg.
Energy: Transactional – ranked: tier 2
The ‘pragmatic, business-minded, hands-on’ team at Ploum counts Maas Capital Renewables and Stedin among its clients. Group head and ‘very strong negotiator’ Stephan Sluijters acted for Nuon-Vattenfall on the sale of its industry park in Emmen to Getec.
Intellectual property – ranked: tier 4
Ploum Lodder Princen’s department is led by Willem Leppink, who acted for Western Digital on its multi-jurisdictional anti-counterfeiting scheme, and represented Jacobs Douwe Egberts in several domain name cases. Other clients include Harley-Davidson and Coty. Sabin Tigu is a recommended associate.
