The Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) has announced that, as a reaction to the disruptions in society caused by COVID-19, the time limits in ongoing trademark and design proceedings before the Office will be extended until the social restrictions imposed in the Benelux countries are repealed.

As soon as the new deadlines have been set, BOIP will inform the parties concerned.

The European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) have taken a similar measure. Deadlines which expire during this period will, if appropriate, be extended until dust settles.

Ploum’s IP team will of course keep a close eye on current deadlines for you and will keep you regularly informed of any further developments that may be relevant to you.
